Shared participation

Begin by listening.

Community visits are opportunities for reciprocal learning. Students can share a conversation, learn a skill, play a game or contribute to a practical activity agreed with local partners.

Any service or action project should begin with the community’s priorities. The purpose is meaningful participation and understanding, with local people guiding what is appropriate.
