Travel from Chiang Mai towards Mae Chaem, meet your hosts and begin with orientation and cultural learning.
Day 2 · Elephants & Karen community life
Learn with local guides about elephants, forest habitats and the relationships between wildlife and livelihoods.
Day 3 · Gibbons, gardens & local knowledge
Explore forest conservation and possible garden or local-herb activities, with time for shared interests and conversation.
Day 4 · Community exchange
Take part in school or intergenerational activities shaped with community partners.
Day 5 · Forest ecology & reflection
Explore the possibility of Doi Inthanon before returning to Chiang Mai and reflecting on the journey.
Day 6 · Departure
Bring the journey to a close and travel onward.

Every school has its own approval process. Discuss the requirements below early and review arrangements for the specific activities, locations and students in your group before confirming.
Safeguarding & supervision
Clarify school and provider responsibilities, supervision ratios, staff vetting, child-protection procedures and how concerns are reported.
Risk & emergency planning
Review activity risk assessments, first-aid provision, medical access, evacuation arrangements, emergency contacts and contingency plans.
Insurance & documentation
Confirm provider cover, exclusions, school requirements and participants’ travel insurance needs with the relevant policy documents.
Transport
Agree routes, journey times, vehicles, seat belts, driver arrangements and how changes or delays will be communicated.
Accommodation & food
Discuss rooming, overnight supervision, homestay suitability, bathroom facilities, dietary needs and food arrangements.
School communication
Agree the itinerary, responsibilities, pre-trip information and the contacts used before departure and during the journey.
