Helping to Support Elephant Welfare
It is our goal to create a sustainable future for elephants in Thailand, supporting a rich history between local communities and these beautiful animals.
Do you want to be a part of elephant wellness and help support the local communities who care for and protect them?
By supporting Hand2Trunk’s projects, you will not only be supporting the future of elephants, you will also be given the opportunity to have a live call with the mahouts and the elephants themselves, to learn about the importance of protecting their habitat and gain an insight into the deep rooted connection with elephants in Thai culture.
Would You like to have a Zoom Call with a Herd of Elephants?
Whilst 2020 has brought a set of challenges to the elephant population, it has also provided an opportunity to find new ways in which we can share the stories of Thai elephant culture and educate people on the importance of creating a sustainable future for elephants.
We are excited to share that we can now facilitate a zoom call between our supporters and the elephants in two of the key projects that we are supporting:
- Elephant Carer Home where the mahouts have been keeping elephants for 8 generations.
- Hauy Pakkoot Elephants Community – since the collapse of Thailand’s toruism industry as a result of the COVID19 outbreak, Huay Pakkoot now supports 90 elephants in the remote Northern Thai mountain region of Mae Chaem.
See how you can book a zoom call with elephants here.

How exactly your donations will be supporting elephants
As an elephant lover, you may have heard that healthy elephants spend between 12 and 18 HOURS per DAY eating, consuming 10% of their body weight or more. For an adult elephant that weighs 3.5 tonnes, that ammoutns to 350 kilos of food.
Much like humans, the quality of food is equally as important as the quantity, which is why we have focused our efforts on creating our own organic farms to feed the elephants. As you can imagine, with our project supporting close to 100 elephants, we need to ensure that we can plant as much healthy food as possible through the planting season.
To rent farm land to grow grass and vegetables for both the elephants and the mahouts who are devoted to caring for them will cost 350,000 Thai baht or $10,850 USD.
This is why your donations can have such great impact on creating a sustainable future for elephants in Thailand. We believe this is a sustainable way to ensure the elephants will have food for a year.
